Obituary

Michael Lee Myler, 57, of Stockton, MO died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO. As per his wishes, Michael's remains were cremated and there will be a memorial gathering held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.

Michael was born March 31, 1953 in Raytown, MO to Kenneth Lee and Winifred "Dollie" (Graham) Myler. He married Cindy (Cubbage) Myler on November 9, 1993, after which they resided in Independence, MO from 1993-1997. They moved to the Stockton area where Michael retired from a 35 year Union trucking job due to a disability. He was a proud member for the Teamsters Local 41 in Kansas City, MO. Prior to that he owned and ran his own towing company in Raytown. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1971.

Michael was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He loved the Stockton area and was particularly fond of hunting with his wife and two children, Crystal Ann and Michael Brandon. His children were from a previous marriage to Melonie Young.

Michael is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cindy Myler of the home; two children, Michael Brandon Myler and his wife, Lauren and Crystal Ann Miller and her husband, Jason, all of Harrisonville, MO; two granddaughters, Mikayla Dawn Myler and Mallory Jean Myler; one brother, Pat Myler and his wife, Margaret of Pleasant Hill, MO; two sisters, Julie (Myler) Kurzweil and her husband, Tom of Garden City, MO and Linda Myler of Independence, MO; four nephews, five nieces and several great nephews and nieces.
