Mervin Forrest Roberts, 82, of Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, due to complications from pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, MO with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God, Raytown, MO.

Mervin was born November 5, 1928 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the son of Matthew and Dora (Goolsby) Roberts. He retired from Honeywell and was an ordained minister in the Assembly of God Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mervin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Jack. He is survived by his wife, Verna of Harrisonville, MO; one son, Jack Roberts of Kansas City, MO; two daughters Gladys Hocker of Archie, MO and Mary Blackman and her husband, Robert of Pleasant Hill, MO; one brother, Melvin Roberts of Clifton, TX; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
