Obituary
Melvin Arthur Lea, 86, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Missouri.
Melvin was born March 16, 1928 in Alberta, Canada, the son of Lars and Clarrisa Lea. He married Frances Holland on May 17, 1952. Melvin moved to New York where he worked as a silverware designer for Oneida in Oneida, New York for many years. He later moved to Missouri where he lived until his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Missouri.
Melvin enjoyed painting and restoring antique furniture and antique cars. He was a true artist.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lloyd Lea. He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; one son, Kevin Malcom Lea and his wife, Lorrie, Oneida, New York and two grandchildren.
