Max Dwayne Miller, 86, Harrisonville, Missouri died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Visitaiton 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home. Burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
Max was born November 12, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Benjamin Christopher and Jesse Pearl (Box) Miller. He married Bettie June Miller on June 1, 1946. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
Max worked for the Harrisonville Brick Plant for several years before working in the grocery retail business. He worked for Nyman's Grocery/Hen House/Buy Rite as assistant manager and head clerk for 27 years. He was a member of the Retail Grocery Clerks Union. He later worked for the Harrisonville Public Schools as a custodian and at Briarwood State School, retiring in 1997.
Max was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Bettie on May 2, 2012. He is survived by three sons, Dwayne Miller and wife, Linda, Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Chris Miller and wife, Becky, Garden City, Missouri and Clint Miller and wife, Debbie, Harrisonville, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
