Mattie Lue Perkins, 76, Edwardsville, IL, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at her home. Funeral services 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Friends may call 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the chapel.

Mattie was born March 13, 1931 in Mobile, Alabama, the daughter of Chester and Marie (Hill) Jordan. She married Richard James Perkins on June 2, 1950. Mattie moved to Harrisonville with her husband, Richard, in 1967 where they lived until moving to Illinois in 1988. Mattie was a homemaker.


Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard James Perkins on March 23, 2004, one son, James L. Perkins and one brother, Junior Jordan. She is survived by one son, Henry Pitts, Swainsboro, Georgia; two daughters, Sharon Young and her husband, Drexyl, Edwardsville, Illinois and Shirley Warhurst and her husband, Blaise, Washington, Missouri; one sister, Vicky Bryant, Pearl, Mississippi; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
