Mary Kathryn Utter, 86, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Miramar Beach, Florida. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 11:00-11:30.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite animal shelter or animal organization, in Mary's name.

Mary was born April 1, 1927 in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Mills) Marshall.  She was a Lutheran.  Mary owned and operated Hideaway Kennel in Harrisonville for many years.  She was a member of ABKA, American Boarding Kennel Association, and had a CKO certificate from the ABKA Association.  Mary loved to fish and she loved her animals.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, and two brothers, Lewis and Jim.  She is survived by one niece, Patricia Harris, Harrisonville, Missouri and two nephews, Alan Marshall, Harrisonville, Missouri and Michael Marshall, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
