Mary Jo (Linder) McCollum , 76 Lee's Summit, MO passed on December 5, 2009 in Lee's Summit, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her six loving children and family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO with visitiation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Southern Care Hospice, Lee's Summit, MO.


Mary Jo was born May 30, 1933, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John and Josephine (Dellario) Flahive. She graduated from Ruskin High School. She had lived in the Kansas City area before moving to Lee's Summit 24 years ago. Mary Jo had worked for Western Electric and Unity Village in their clerical department before retiring.

She is survived by six children, Clifford Linder Jr., Harrisonville, MO, Mary Dell Looney, Easton, KS, Betsy Stone, Holden, MO, Buck Linder, Belton, MO, Terri Garner, Laramie, WY and Shawn McCollum, Lee's Summit, MO; one sister, Rita Moore of Casper, WY; one brother, Charles Flahive, North Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a loving circle of family and friends.
