Mary Z. Lane, 80, Cleveland, Missouri, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.

Mary was born January 2, 1933 in Drumright, Oklahoma, the daughter of James C. and Sylvia Z. (West) Purcell. She was a 1951 graduate of Excelsior High School. She married Bruce D. Lane on November 13, 1954; they were married for 40 years. Mary went to Business School in Oklahoma City and worked for Luzier Cosmetics in Kansas City, Missouri for 12 years. She loved to travel. She was an avid reader, loved word and number puzzles and had a good sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son-in-law, Paul Gentry, 4 brothers, James, Bill, Ray and Paul and her former husband, Bruce. She is survived by two daughters, Janette Paulson and husband, Jim, Grinnell, Iowa and Valerie Gentry, Belton, Missouri; two sisters, Ruth Israel and husband, Edwin, Greenwood, Arkansas and Judy Stockton and husband, Larry, Haughton, Louisiana; 9 grandchildren, Jill, Travis, Paul, Jr., Joseph, Robert, James, Joy, Jamie and Katie and 11 great-grandchildren, Reese, Justin, Jonathon, Robbie, Amira, Paul, Jade, Vaughn, Alyx, Max and Hattie.
