Mary M. Hanneman, 96, of Belton, MO, formerly of Freeman, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Carnegie Village in Belton, MO. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Freeman Cemetery in Freeman, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mary was born December 16, 1926 in Vernon County, MO, a daughter of Harley and Freda (Yount) Long. She spent her early years in Liberal, MO and was a 1944 graduate of Liberal High School. Mary was working in Kansas City when she met Gordon Henry Hanneman. They were united in marriage on October 21, 1951. They moved from Kansas City to Freeman, where they lived for 20 years before moving to Raymore and then to Belton.

Mary worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City as an examiner and as a court witness until her retirement. After retirement, she began selling real estate for Coldwell-Banker in Belton. She was a 50-year member of the White Shrine and Bayard Chapter #179 Order of Eastern Star in Harrisonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; two sons, David Hanneman and Dr. Thomas H. Fish; her parents; four brothers; and 2 sisters. Mary is survived by her son, Michael Hanneman, and his wife, Shirley, of Raymore, MO; a daughter, Karen Soulis, and her husband, Tim, of Harrisonville, MO; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
