Mary LeAnn Bagby, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 5:52 PM at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO, at 74 years old. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Interment  in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO. Mary LeAnn Bagby (Spooner) was born on July 30, 1950, to Merle and Frances Spooner of Superior, Nebraska. She graduated from Gaylord High School. She worked in the movie theatre business as a co-owner of the B-B Theater in Ottawa, KS, and Harrisonville, MO, where she was known as the "Movie Lady."

Mary LeAnn married Steve Bagby on June 1, 1969. Together they shared 4 children: Francyne, Ellie, Scott, and Steph. They first met in Beloit, KS, at a pool hall in the basement of a hotel. LeAnn knew Steve was the one when she spotted him in his orange suspenders.

Mary LeAnn enjoyed volunteering for the Springfield Hospital. She will be remembered by others for her love of her family and friends, kind words, her lovely pink shoes, and dazzling nails.

Mary LeAnn is survived by her husband, Steve Bagby; children: Francyne and Rob Sheverbush, Ellie and Jon Cowdin, Scott and Nikki Bagby, and Steph Alonzo-Bagby and Julia Alonzo; grandchildren: Alex Cowdin, Robert and Heather Sheverbush, Emma Bagby, Hailey Bagby, Lorelai Alonzo, and Toby Alonzo; and great-grandchild, Gabriel Sheverbush. Mary LeAnn is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Jack and Johnny Spooner; and grandchildren: Austin and Angelica Cowdin.
