Marvin Arthur Walker, 88, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services are pending with private family inurnment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Marvin was born April 9, 1924 in Waldron, Arkansas, the son of Gee and Vaudie Mae (Owens) Walker. He married Betty Jo Walker on November 15, 1945 in Hutchinson, Kansas where he lived until moving to Harrisonville, Missouri where he lived for over 30 years. He later lived in Coal City, Illinois, Clinton, Oklahoma and Osceola, Missouri. He was a Corporal in the U. S. Marines, serving during WWII.
Marvin worked for Unigard Insurance Company as a fire insurance underwriter until his retirement. He had attended the Nazarene Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri and the Methodist Church in Osceola, Missouri.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Myra Jane and his wife, Betty Jo on September 17, 2011. He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Titus, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one son, Wayne Walker and wife, Vikky, Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Dye and husband, Henry, Clinton, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
