Martin DeLozier, 91, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17 at the Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice or First

Martin was born September 24, 1924 in Clinton, Missouri, the youngest of seven children born to William and Lucy (Martin) DeLozier. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Martin was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and had served as a storekeeper while stationed at Admiralty Islands in the South Pacific Ocean. Martin married Dorothy Mae Millam on March 16, 1944 in Redwood City, California. He was stationed in California and had planned to come home to get married before shipping out; however, his leave was cancelled, so Dorothy came to California to get married.
Martin co-owned Harrisonville Auto Parts with Shorty Bohannon and later with Meryl Bohannon. He retired after 38 years in the business. He was a 60-year member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville. He served as a deacon and was the assistant Sunday School Secretary and Treasurer. He was also on the House Committee and was a trustee. Martin loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He and Dorothy enjoyed traveling across the United States together.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy DeLozier on March 14, 2015; three brothers, Wendel Pougue, Theodore DeLozier, Lewis DeLozier, three sisters, Ruth Miller, Mary Miller, and Dorothy Salmons. He is survived by one son, Doug DeLozier (Lynda), Belton, Missouri; one daughter, Debbie Goss (James), Harrisonville, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Janelle Vergouven (Neil), Brent DeLozier, Kelly DeLozier and Jason Goss; 2 great-grandchildren, Kara and Kelsey Vergouven; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
