Martha Jene Condron, 79, Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
Martha was born on April 29, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. She is the daughter of Ernest (Bud) Lester Hancher and Betty Lovell. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and attended Allen Elementary Grade School and graduated from Westport High School. She then took a business course and studied at a Business College in Kansas City, Missouri. She worked for Standard Milling Company as a secretary and loved to be a waitress for special events at the Muehlbach Hotel in Kansas City.
In the 60's Martha married Ivan W. Condron, in Kansas City, Mo and later retired in the 80's, married Bill Shockley and moved to Lake Winnebago where she lived until she moved to John Knox Village due to her health. She was a dog lover from childhood. There were several "Mr. Spots" that she laid to rest with, the last dog being "Georgia" when she became ill.
She loved playing cards with individuals with Bridge and Canasta being her favorites. Her grandmother, Charlotte Lovell, loved to have a bridge game going in the afternoon and Martha would fill in for anyone who was not there. The Kansas City Chief's and Kansas City Royals were her favorite sporting events to watch and root for.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her grandmothers and grandfathers, an uncle, a cousin and one of her husbands, Bill Shockley. She is survived by her step-sister, Darlie Weaver and a step-nephew, Toby Ellis, and several cousins, along with several life time friends.
