Obituary
Marjorie May North, 85, Adrian, Missouri, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Adrian Manor Nursing Home in Adrian, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Macks Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Scholarship, Adrian, Missouri.
Marjorie was born May 2, 1928 in Macks Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Charles C. and Bertha Christina (Jetter) Eldred. Marjorie, one of four children, grew up in Macks Creek and attended Macks Creek School until graduation from the 12th grade. After graduation, Marjorie worked at Montgomery Ward in Kansas City, Missouri. On December 1, 1946, Marjorie was joined in marriage to Ivan Wesley North of Macks Creek. To this union was born one daughter, Naomi Joyce and one son, Don Clifford.
Marjorie was a sales clerk for the MFA Grocery and Feed Store in Macks Creek for 17 years followed by working at Blair's Cedar Novelty in Camdenton, Missouri until her retirement. In 1990, Marjorie and Ivan moved to Adrian to be closer to their daughter, Naomi and family.
Marjorie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting, crafts and garage sales. She was a member of the Branch Homemaker Club in Macks Creek, as well as the Penny Savers Club and Jolly Dozen Club in Adrian. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macks Creek for many years before moving to Adrian where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Adrian.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ivan North, two sisters, Mildred Haney and Mabel Klumpp, one brother, Melvin "Casey" Eldred, an infant son, Don North, one grandson, Steven Selle and son-in-law, Carl Selle. She is survived by her daughter, Naomi Selle, Adrian, Missouri; two grandsons, Vic Selle, Butler, Missouri and Brad Selle and wife, Becky, Nixa Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Alexis and Aubrey, all of Nixa, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.
