Obituary

Marjorie Inez Croy, 96, Raymore, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.  Funeral services were Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Burial in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital.

Marjorie was born September 29, 1923 in Maysville, MO, a daughter of John Leroy and Ruth (Brown) Scott.  She graduated from Clarksdale, MO High School at age 15 and received her bachelor's degree in education at age 18 from M.U.  Marjorie married Loyd W. Croy on April 10, 1943.  Marjorie had lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Peculiar in 1976.  She moved to Raymore in 2013.  She worked as an executive secretary for the administrator of Children's Mercy Hospital for 25 years.  She had also taught school and was a den mother.  She was a 50-year member of the East Gate Eastern Star and served on the Resident Association at Foxwood Springs. Marjorie was an active member of the Peculiar United Methodist Church for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Scott and her husband, Loyd on July 25, 1996.  She is survived by one son, Jerry Croy, Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Betty Cantrell, Peculiar, MO; one sister, Evelyn Lancaster, Peculiar; 4 grandchildren, John Cantrell, Dawn Croy, Jeff Cantrell and Scott Croy; 5 great-grandchildren, Jake Cantrell, Jaymee (Cantrell) Lakey, Evan Croy, Lucas Croy and Reid Cantrell, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Bodie Cantrell and Frankie Cantrell.
