Marion (Usnick) Hawkins, 74, Peculiar, Missouri, was called home Thursday, December 24, 2015. A celebration of life service was held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Harrisonville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.

Marion was born June 7, 1941 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Eudora (Holmes) Usnick. She grew up in Sugar Creek and graduated in 1959 from Van Horn High School.

Marion worked for Dun & Bradstreet before moving to Peculiar, Missouri in 1978. She worked as a telephone operator for United Telephone and then transferred to Sprint, where she worked in HR until her retirement. She and Irvy Hawkins, her husband of 38 years, are members of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, co-worker, and friend, she will be missed by so many.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Raymond, Harley, and Tom Usnick, and two sisters, Frances Lopez and Carmen Roberts. She is survived by her husband, Irv; children, Julie (Frank) McLean of Republic, Missouri, Pam (Chris) Kramer of St. Charles, Missouri, Gary (Valerie) Hawkins of Peculiar, Missouri, and Connie Sweeten of Bucyrus, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, Joe (Amber) Lawrence, Josh (Lauren) Lawrence, Chelsea (Kenton) Hawley, Tyler Sweeten, Lee Hawkins, and Jessilyn McLean; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Lawrence; two brothers, Garry 'Lad' (Pat) Usnick and Frank 'Sugar' (Martha) Usnick, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Years in Harrisonville for the loving care they have given Marion over the past three years.
