Obituary

Marilyn Margaret Paul, 84, Archie, Missouri, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Archie, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Friends may visit from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Archie United Methodist Church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Marilyn was born April 4, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri, the fifth of eight children, born to Dewey Everett and Lovilla Kimble (Williams) McDaniel. She was a 1947 graduate of Westport High School. While working at Sears, Marilyn met Linton "L. D." Paul and they were married on February 13, 1949. They were blessed with three children, Rose Marie, Carolyn Sue and Tom.

In 1963, Marilyn and her family moved from Grandview, Missouri to the farm in Archie, Missouri. Growing up a "city girl", Marilyn soon realized her husband was born to be a farmer and she adapted to the hard work and dedication of a farmer's wife.

Through the years, Marilyn raised her family, worked on the farm, worked in a bank, worked with the 4-H group, the school and the church. She also worked with The United Egg Producers, The Missouri Beef Council, the WIC program, and Head Start. She was known as "the Egg Lady". She was a talented seamstress and shared many other creative activities with others. She belonged to many clubs, including the Busy Bee Quilting and Modern Priscillas.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Maurice McDaniel, William McDaniel and Eugene McDaniel, one sister, Dorothy Bailey and one granddaughter, Kira Divine. She is survived by her husband, L. D., Harrisonville, Missouri; one son, Tom Paul, Archie, Missouri; two daughters, Rose Marie Patterson and husband, Jim, Lee's Summit, Missouri and Carolyn Sue Divine and husband, Jim, Archie, Missouri; one brother, Russell McDaniel and wife, Ginny, Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Ginger Bure and husband, Bob, Archie, Missouri and Barbara Cipolla and husband, John, Raymore, Missouri; one granddaughter, Alicia Cornell and husband, Josh; one great-grandchild, Kolton, and many nieces and nephews.
