Marie E. Burns, 83, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her home in Harrisonville. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated with inurnment taking place in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Marie was born on July 23, 1941, in Kansas City, MO, a daughter of George William and Angeline Marie (Nastasio) Wardlow. Marie was united in marriage to Robert Oliver Burns on November 28, 1959, in Higginsville, MO. They made their home in Higginsville and Marie moved to Harrisonville to be with her family when Robert, who was a Marine Gunnery Sargeant, was assigned to Vietnam. She was a Catholic.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, on February 28, 2014; a brother, Steve; and her sister, Kathleen Francis Sliffe. She is survived by her brother and sister, and many nieces and nephews.
