Margie Elizabeth Deshazer, 68, Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Grace Christian Tabernacle in Harrisonville. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Margie was born December 21, 1943 in Red Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Russell S. and Blanche (Baker) Smith. She graduated from Paseo High School in May, 1962 and married Theron Henry Deshazer on November 30, 1962 in Kansas City, MO. She had lived in Harrisonville since 1968. She was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother.
Margie worked for Cass County Memorial Hospital for 14 years as a respiratory therapist. She retired in 1982 to be a grandmother and homemaker. She did private duty nursing for several years. Margie was a member of Grace Christian Tabernacle in Harrisonville and was an avid supporter of the Veteran's Association.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her husband, Theron, of the home; one son, Shawn Deshazer; one daughter, Victoria Grant; one granddaughter, Taren Grant; one brother, Robert Smith; one sister-in-law, Loretta Barnard and her husband, Reece, and many nieces and nephews.
