IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Ellen
Maloney
February 27, 1914 – November 23, 2019
Margaret (Margee) Ellen Maloney passed away peacefully at the age of 105 on November 23, 2019, with her loving family by her side.
Margee was born to James and Bridgett (Delia) Maloney on February 27, 1914 in Washington, D.C. Her father died when she was three years old. Margee lived with several wonderful foster families for part of her childhood until her mother had the financial means to care for her.
As an adult, Margee lived in D.C. until she was in her mid-60s. While living there she worked as a sales clerk and a switchboard operator. She met the love of her life, James Lowry. After his passing, she became a caregiver for her mother. When her mother died, she moved to Maryland to be with her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Ann Cusic, son-in-law Joseph Cusic Sr. and grandson, Joseph Cusic Jr. In 1981, she moved with her daughter's family to Cleveland, MO to be near her granddaughter, Donna Zumwalt. When she was 97 years old, she broke her hip. She moved to Louisburg Healthcare and Rehab Center in Louisburg, Kansas where she lived for the remainder of her life.
If you needed to talk, she was a great confidant. If you needed to laugh, she had a great wit, though she could be ornery. She was smart. She had strength and courage. More than anything she had a huge heart full of love and kindness. Many will miss her, especially her daughter, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
Celebration of life was held with a Mass at Holy Rosary Church in Wea, Kansas on Saturday, November 30. In lieu of flowers, please donate to any charity of your choice.
