Margaret Cecelia Kelley Fox, 83, Raymore, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Raymore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Lee's Summit Christian Church, 800 Northeast Tudor Road, Lee's Summit, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Margaret was born, with her twin brother, Phillip, on September 14, 1931, in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip and Velma (Kohler) Kelley. She attended Lone Elm #38 (1938-1942), Lone Tree #60 (1937-1938) and Mt. Zion #63 (1942-1945) rural schools. After graduating as valedictorian from Harrisonville High School in 1949, she received a BA from Ottawa University and an MA from Webster University. She married Dennis Mac Fox on September 7, 1952, and their son, Tim, was born in 1956. They made their home in San Diego, California, while Dennis was in the Navy, returning to Missouri in 1966, living in Kansas City and Lee's Summit. Margaret was a pioneer in computer programming, beginning in 1959. She worked at Convair in San Diego, at H. D. Lee in Overland Park, Kansas, and at Baptist Hospital in Kansas City, where she managed the computer system in the laboratory and pharmacy for 26 years.
Dennis and Margaret enjoyed RV-ing with "That Group," friends from Broadview and Lee's Summit Christian Churches. They spent 15 winters in Gold Canyon, Arizona, and several summers in upstate New York with their son and his family, giving them a wonderful opportunity to be with their grandson, Sam, who was a great joy to her.
Margaret was a lifelong member of the Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha social sorority and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and she was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; son, Tim and his wife, Carolyn; grandson, Sam; and twin brother, Phillip K. Kelley and his wife, Velda Lee.
