Mamie C. (Brewington) Famuliner, 87, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Baptist Fellowship, P.O. Mamie was born February 17, 1924 in Okemah, OK, the daughter of James Willis and Pearl (Allenbaugh ) Brewington. She was a resident of the Harrisonville area since the 1940's. She graduated from business school in Tulsa, OK. On April 26, 1942 she married James B. Famuliner of Harrisonville at the First Christian Church parsonage in Harrisonville. They lived on the family farm, "A Century Farm", which has been in existence for over 105 years, where they raised their two daughters, Sharon and Dorthy. Her fondest memories were of family, including the many family reunions held at the farm, where she resided since shortly after WWII.

Mamie worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. David S. Long for 22 years in Harrisonville. She was currently a member of Heartland Baptist Fellowship in Harrisonville and had formerly attended First Christian Church in Harrisonville. She loved to read and watch the birds. She always reveled in playing with her own children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew, delighting in how they experienced the world for the first time.

Mamie was honest, sweet, generous and giving of herself, her time and money. She said that being a real success in life means doing a good job, however small or great it may be, and that "You are only a failure if you don't do your best."

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Oren Wesley "Chub" and J. W., one sister, Dorotha and her husband, Jim on August 13, 2010. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Famuliner de Leon and Dorthy Jungmeyer and her husband, Ernie; one brother, Bill Brewington; one sister, Helen Confer; four grandsons, Lance Jungmeyer and his wife, Erin, Juan Carlos de Leon and his wife, Becky, Brandon Jungmeyer and Jaime de Leon and his wife, Aura and three great-grandchildren, Dylan and Isabella de Leon, children of Juan and Becky de Leon and Isabel de Leon, daughter of Jaime and Aura de Leon.
