Euna Macel "Mamaw" (Butts) Jones, age 88, Adrian, MO passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 24 ^th , 2021.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO.   Burial  in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.  The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Heartland Hospice. Macel was born in Yale, Arkansas (1933) and grew up in Pettigrew. As a child she enjoyed playing outside and loved to fish. Thanks to her mother, she developed a devout faith that would remain ever-present throughout her life.  She graduated from Saint Paul High School in St. Paul, Arkansas in 1951.

Macel met Melvin L. Jones when she was 16.  After a 6-year courtship, they were married in 1955. They lived in Kansas City, MO until 1965 when they bought a farm and planted their roots in Adrian, Missouri. They had two daughters, Michelle Myers and Sharon Knuth. When the grandchildren came along, Macel transformed into "Mamaw," the beloved matriarch of the family.

Macel worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and a Certified Nursing Assistant at Adrian Manor She farmed right along with her husband raising cattle and working in the hayfields. She was a member of Adrian First Baptist Church. Mamaw had many, many talents. An amazing seamstress, a wonderful gardener finding beauty in and around the house with her favorite roses and hibiscuses.  She was an amazing cook, perfecting generational recipes for her family. The kitchen was her domain and she made sure it was always full of love (and food). Later in life, she enjoyed spoiling her great grandchildren, shopping trips with 'the girls' (daughters and granddaughters) and doting on her great-grandbabies.  She will be remembered as the living embodiment of love, kindness and grace.  When you were around her, she made your soul feel loved. She lived simply; loved deeply; forgave easily, and worked hard and put others first.

Macel was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Anna Butts, and her siblings, Harvey, Dale, and Ernestine Patterson.  Mamaw is survived by Melvin, or "Papaw", her sweetheart and husband of 66 years; daughter, Michelle, and her husband, Charles Myers; daughter, Sharon, and her husband, David Knuth; grandchildren, Amber and her husband, Brandon Yount and their daughters, Haley, Dylan, and Beck; Jordan Myers and his wife, Lindsey and their children, Charlotte and Levi; Cody Knuth and his wife, Laneah and their son, Emmett; and Kyle Knuth and his wife, Maddy.  She will be dearly missed.
