Lyle Leroy Gilmore, 80, Harrisonville, MO, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville.
Lyle was born August 14, 1930 in Dayton, Missouri to John and Velma Gilmore. On September 23, 1954 he was united in marriage to Helen Cornelius. Lyle worked over 30 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He worked in the underground mines as a drill operator and in the strip mines in Kansas City, retiring from Hunt Midwest Mining. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and doing mechanic work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James and Everett, and one sister, Mary Gowen. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; one son, Douglas Gilmore of Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Stacy Gilmore of Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Washington Gilmore of Garden City, MO; two sisters, Florence Phillips of Archie, MO and Georgia Schrock of Garden City, MO; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Kristopher, Douglas, Garrit, Ashley, Emilie, Kole and Brooke; and nephews and nieces,
