Loretta Ida Dawson, 82, Peculiar, MO, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM at the chapel. Loretta was born December 26, 1925 in Salem, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert and Roxie (Rosier) Foster. She married Norman Dawson on December 1, 1945 in Salem, Arkansas.
Loretta lived in Salem, AR before moving to Kansas City, MO in 1953 and she moved to Peculiar in 1970. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peculiar. She was a homemaker. She had previously worked at Montgomery Ward.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Norman Dawson, of the home; one son, Duane Dawson and his wife, Sue, Stillwell, KS; one daughter, Sheila Hunt and her husband, Ron, Raymore, MO; two brothers, David Foster, Hardy, Arkansas and James Foster, of Belton, MO; two grandchildren, Lori Jonas and her husband, Dan and Ryan Dawson and five great-grandchildren, Danielle, Eric, Zak, Matthew and Micah.
