Lonnie Ray Wackerman, 78, Camdenton, MO, formerly of Adrian, MO, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Osage Beach and Rehabilitation and Health Care in Osage Beach, MO. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Adrian.
Lonnie was born April 13, 1934 in Adrian, MO, the son of Bert and Hazel (Arndt) Wackerman. He spent his youth and early adulthood in the Adrian area. Many cherished friends and memories were in Adrian. He spoke often of his classmates from the "Class of 52" as well as his fishing trips (during school days) with "Prof. Welch."
Some of his proudest memories were of his grandchildren, Kelsey and Jake. Lonnie loved going to their ballgames and enjoyed exploring new recipes with them. He was also excited about his great-granddaughter to be born in August. He was extremely proud of his nephew, James Allen Wackerman and wife, Sheila and their family, Jamie, Jessica, Wade and Kyle, as well as their spouses and children.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Wayne, Lyle, Dorvan, John and Harvey, and one sister, Shirley. He is survived by his son, Mike Wackerman and wife, Amy, of Camdenton, MO; granddaughter, Kelsey Adams and husband, Tim, of Camdenton, MO; grandson, Jake Wackerman of Camdenton; nephew, James Allen Wackerman and family of Adrian. Also, nephews, Kent Wackerman and family and Kevin Wackerman and family; nieces, Linda Wilson and family and Deon Haldman and family.
Lonnie will be greatly missed. His loving, cheerful personality and playful use of the English language brought joy to everyone he was with.
