Lois Maxine Morris, 90, Peculiar, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO.
Lois was born April 15, 1933 in Freeman, MO, a daughter of Anver and Laverna (Bybee) Cummings. Lois was a lifelong Cass County resident where she attended Bybee Rural School #89 through grade school and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1951.
Lois was united in marriage to Edwin "Dick" Morris, Jr. on May 6, 1952 at the home of Rev. Joe Brewster in Harrisonville. She was a member of the Grand River Baptist Church in Freeman. Lois loved crafts, going to craft shows, quilting, crocheting, flowers, gardening, and had worked as a 4-H sewing instructor as her girls were growing up.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Nadean Cummings; her son, Mike Morris; her sons-in-law, Darren Marolt and Randy Giebler; two brothers, Walter "Pete" Cummings and Ferrell Cummings; and her sister-in-law, Freda Cummings. She is survived by her husband, Edwin "Dick" Morris, of Peculiar, MO; three daughters: Becky Randall, and her husband, Roger, of Lee's Summit, MO; Patty Giebler, of Peculiar, MO; and Debra Amerson, and her husband, Dan, of Peculiar, MO; seven grandchildren: Doug (Angela) Randall, Steve Randall, Jessica (Scott) Pisarik, Nathan (Kayleigh Kisner) Marolt, Laura Marolt, Katelyn Amerson, Emily Amerson; two great-grandchildren: Derrick Randall and Coleton Randall; and her sister-in-law, Alice Cummings.
