Lois Eilene James, 85, Freeman, MO, died February 4, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.  Funeral services were held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Burial in Freeman Cemetery.

Lois was born June 26, 1933 in Pleasant Hill, MO, the daughter of William Perry and Thelma (McBride) Gray.  She was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School.  Lois married Vernon Alfred James on July 14, 1950 in Pleasant Hill and moved to Freeman.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Freeman.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon, on November 8, 2012, a grandson, Stephen Hatch, a sister, Marjorie Buckstead, and two brothers, Ralph and Mike Gray.  She is survived by one son, Gregg James (Sherrill), Casper, WY; two daughters, Terre James Labus (Dennis), West Salem, WI, and Denise Hatch (Glen), Harrisonville, MO; one brother, Marvin Gray, Pleasant Hill, MO; four grandchildren, Whitney Lowe, Jessica Coffendaffer (Bryce), Garrett James (Trich), and Makayla Hatch, and several nieces and nephews.
