Obituary

Lois Nadine Hartsell, 83, Garden City, MO passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 in her home surrounded by loved ones.  Funeral services were held July 14, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.  Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Lois was born March 13, 1937 Iberia, MO the daughter of Curtis Pemberton and Laura (Thornsberry).  She was the oldest of nine children.  On June 3, 1955 Lois was united in marriage to George Leroy Hartsell in Lee's Summit, MO. Unto this union three children were born: Terry, Clifford and Becky.  Lois was employed by Avon and the Archie school district as a bus driver until her retirement.

Lois was dedicated to her family, friends and faith. Her and Leroy were avid fisherman with trips to Canada. They enjoyed attending Nascar races and traveling. Lois and Leroy were loyal spectators to their grandchildren's activities. She loved spending time outside working in her garden and planting flowers. Lois was a dedicated quilter and loved spending time with the Busy Bee Quilters on Wednesdays. She took pride in the quilts she made for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; her grandson, Kristopher Wayne Hartsell; two brothers David and Alvin Pemberton; sister-in-law, Donna Pemberton; and brother-in-law, John Hogan.

Lois is survived by her children: Terry Hartsell and wife Vicki of Pleasant Hill, MO, Clifford Hartsell and wife Michelle of Garden City, MO, Becky Wyatt and husband Jerry of Archie, MO; six grandchildren: David Hartsell and wife Melissa of Pleasant Hill, MO, Andrea Hartsell of Pleasant Hill, MO, Nicholas Hartsell and wife Ashley of Garden City, MO, Adam Hartsell and wife Kayla of Archie, MO, Thomas Hartsell and wife Brianna of Harrisonville, MO, Elizabeth Hartsell and fiancé Kevin Marrant of Garden City, MO; 12 great grandchildren: Garrison, McKenna, Callie, Kennedee, Kynlee, Nolan, Braylee, Keaghan, Rylee Hartsell, Weston, Brayden, Delaney Marrant.

Siblings: Doyle Pemberton (Junadell) Topeka, KS, Carol Hogan Raymore, MO, Dorlis Pemberton Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Richard Pemberton (Debbie) Pleasant Hill, MO, Sandra Taylor (Ronnie) Lenexa, KS and several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
