Lloyd Lee Mathes, 75, Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.  Memorial services were held Friday, December 20, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to Coldwater of Lee's Summit, 1800 NE Independence Ave, Lee's Summit, MO 64086 or The Shriner Hospital for Children, St. Louis, MO.

Lloyd was born on June 9, 1944 in Cherokee, Kansas, a son of Paul and Velna (Boothe) Mathes. He was a lifelong Harrisonville resident and a 1962 graduate of Harrisonville High School.  Lloyd had worked for Bob Johnson's Appliance in Harrisonville, he worked with Jack Cotton at Cotton Construction, and retired after 20 years from maintenance and construction at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, MO.

Lloyd served his community as a volunteer firefighter for the Harrisonville Fire Department.  He was an avid fisherman and an active member of the coffee club at Donna's Diner.  Lloyd was a member of First Baptist Church.

Lloyd is survived by his companion of 33 years, Sylvia Branaman, Harrisonville; two daughters, Monica (Jeff) Humbard, Lee's Summit, MO, and Michelle Gremminger, Lee's Summit, MO; two brothers, Melvin (Donna) Mathes and Harold (Sherrie) Mathes, both of Harrisonville; four step-children, Vince Branaman, Lee's Summit, MO, Sonya Branaman, Holden, MO, Tonya Branaman, Columbia, MO, and Diana Branaman, Lawrence, KS; three grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren.
