Lloyd Reed Branstine, 93, Harrisonville, MO, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Adrian Manor, Adrian, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Lloyd was born September 1, 1923 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Guy Jacob and E. Belle (Reed) Branstine. Lloyd grew up in Fair Grove, MO and was a 1941 graduate of Fair Grove High School. Lloyd worked as a farm hand after high school in the Pleasant Hill, MO area. He entered the Army on March 29, 1944, serving with Company B, 1264th Engineer Construction Battalion. He served overseas during WWII in the battles and campaigns of the Rhineland and Central Europe. Lloyd
was discharged as a sergeant on June 12, 1944.

Lloyd was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Donald on May 16, 1948, and they made their home in Harrisonville together for the next 65 years. Lloyd was a farm implement mechanic and worked at the Harvey Implement Company in Harrisonville for many years.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn, in 2013, a daughter, Cheri Middaugh, his parents, a brother and a sister. He is survived by two sons, Dewaine Branstine and wife, Frances, Harrisonville, MO and Charles Sloan and wife, Carolyn, Katy, TX; two brothers and two sisters, all of the Springfield, MO area; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
