Linda Lucille Lyon, 76, Peculiar, Missouri, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Peculiar Cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri.
Linda was born July 7, 1939 in Vicksburg, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Birdsall) Lucking. She married Thomas Lyon on June 4, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Linda was a graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. She lived in the Inglewood/Hawthorn, California area before moving to Kansas City. She had lived in Grandview, Missouri for 10 years before moving to Peculiar in 1980.
Linda was a teacher at Adrian High School for 17 years before retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Longview Methodist Church and a member of the Red Hats.
Linda is survived by her husband, Thomas, of the home; one son, Scott T. Lyon, Wellsville, Kansas; two daughters, Michelle A. Lyon, North Yarmouth, Maine and Tracy L. Bean and husband, Ron, Liberal, Missouri; one brother, Fredrick William "Bill" Lucking, Jr., Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Ellan Fournier, Santa Paula, California, and 6 grandchildren.
