Linda S. Fricke, 76, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her home in Lee's Summit. A Celebration of Life was held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.
Linda was born on April 27, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Billy R. and Deetta (Hall) Shelton. She spent her early years in Kansas City and Peculiar, MO, and was a 1967 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School in Peculiar. After high school, she attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Kansas City and became a Registered Nurse. Linda was united in marriage to Dr. Merritt Fricke on March 23, 1980, in Lake San Marcos, California. They worked together for a number of years in the medical field before Merritt's retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and an active member of Worker Sisters.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt; father, Bill; stepmother, Lorelei "Lee" Shelton; and a sister, Lorna Hunter. She is survived by her siblings: Sandy (Bill) Ruppert, Sarasota, FL; Bill (Nancy) Shelton, Harrisonville, MO; Terry (Lisa) Shelton, San Francisco, CA; and Bob (Sharon) Shelton, Savannah, TN; her nieces and nephews: Jackie, Noah, Camille, Isac, Bradley, Baylee, Kyle, Mathew, Naomi, Georgia Lee, Ella Shelton, Isabelle Shelton, Alexa Shelton, Corwin Shelton, Maxwell Bilyk, Samuel Bilyk, Sylvie Manahan, Amaya Shelton, Zoey Shelton; and her cousin, Joe Nickell, and his wife, Linda.
