Linda L. Chamness, 67, Urich, Missouri, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13 at the Atkinson Funeral Home.

Linda was born February 19, 1947 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of George "Tuck" and Amelia (Allgor) Smith. She was a graduate of Cass-Midway High School. Linda was a lifelong area resident, having lived in Urich for the last 20 years.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her son, David Chamness on July 1, 2001, a sister, Lillian and an infant brother. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Chamness Foreman, Grain Valley, Missouri; brothers, Larry Taylor, Garden City, Missouri, Melvin Taylor, Appleton City, Missouri, Earl Wayne Smith of Florida; sisters, Mary Flanagan, New Lancaster, Kansas, Marie Neece, Garden City, Missouri, Nancy Franklin, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Ameila Masters, Independence, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Cody, Ashley and Jordan Murphy.
