Letha Marie Kircher, 82 of Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Friends may call from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7 at the chapel. Letha was born March 6, 1927 at her home place near Harrisonville, the daughter of Clay and Effie Elnora (Wilson) Hensley. She was a 1945 graduate of Harrisonville High School and was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville. Letha married Edward Raymond "E. R." Kircher on September 11, 1946 at the Methodist Church in Kansas City, KS.
Letha was a homemaker most of her life. She raised chickens and had an egg route. She was always in the kitchen fixing meals for local farmers at harvest time. She was one of the best cooks in Cass County. When her three daughters got old enough, she went to work outside of the home at fruit stands and flower shops. She enjoyed working outside of the home to visit and meet the public. She helped a lot of people get their fruit and they would request her to pick out their fruit. She enjoyed her family and was a very loving person. Since 1991 she enjoyed her only grandson, Robert Kyle Edwards.
Besides her parents, Letha was preceded in death by her husband, E. R. Kircher on December 18, 2005; one brother, Henry and two sisters, Elnora and Annie. She is survived by three daughters, Vickie Drury and her husband, Bob, Harrisonville, MO, Lisa Webb and her husband, Roger, Harrisonville, MO and Vonda Mothershead and husband, Kelly, Lee's Summit, MO; one grandson, R. Kyle Edwards, Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Esther "Lee" Fellman, Younceville, CA; other relatives and many friends.
