Leslie Lafe "Led" Mincks, 87, Cleveland, Missouri, died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. A visitation will be held 11:00-1:00 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Cleveland, Missouri followed by a 1:30 p.m. graveside service at Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
Leslie was born March 23, 1928 in Buffalo, Missouri the son of Lester and Eula (Smith) Mincks. Led grew up in Bolivar, Missouri and moved to the Cleveland, Missouri area in 1949. Led was a truck driver for the J. C. Nichols Company for forty years before retiring in 1989. He was a forty year member of Teamsters Local 541 in Kansas City. He was united in marriage to Myrle Neal August 26, 1949 in Bolivar, Missouri, and to this union eight children were born. He enjoyed playing cards and watching the Royals and Chiefs with his family and friends.
Led was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leonard and Herchel Mincks, and three sisters, Bertha Jarvis, Chestine Ahart, and Rose Kirby.
He is survived by five sons; Dale E. Mincks (Kathy), Cleveland, MO; Leslie D. Mincks (Debbie), Freeman, MO; Jimmy L. Mincks (Lisa), Louisburg, KS; Charles A. Mincks (Melissa), Prescott, KS; and Weslie R. Mincks (Claire), Pleasanton, KS. Three daughters; Donna K. Jones (Ronnie), Cleveland, MO; Carol L. Huff, Bucyrus, KS; and Rita M. Struble (Mike), Warsaw, MO. His companion, Delta Eggers, of the home.
Seven brothers; his twin brother, Cheslie G. Mincks, Cleveland, MO; Willard Mincks, Paul Mincks, Herman Mincks, Lester Mincks, Kenneth Mincks, and Billy Mincks, all of Bolivar, MO. One sister, Ruth Mincks Neal, Bolivar, MO. Twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. And other relatives and friends.
