Lesa Arlene Gorman, 66, of Freeman, Missouri, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Mosaic Life Care Hospital in St. Joseph, MO. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Inurnment at Freeman Cemetery at a later date.

Born on April 17, 1958, in Rogers, Arkansas, to McKinley and Geneva Stanphill, Lesa was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived a fulfilling life in Freeman, Missouri, where she resided for over 30 years. Lesa graduated from Raytown South High School and dedicated her career to the hospitality industry, working as a house cleaner alongside her mother and family. Her company was called Top to Bottom Cleaning Company, and she enjoyed the work until her health began to decline. On February 4, 1978, Lesa married the love of her life, Joseph Gorman, Jr., and together they built a supportive and loving home. Lesa found joy in simple pleasures, including drawing, completing puzzles, and spending serene moments fishing. Her strong faith guided her through life, and even though she was not affiliated with a specific church, she loved attending services and cherishing those spiritual connections. Lesa's life was marked by her kindness, resilience, and the unwavering love she offered to all.

Lesa was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rick Stanphill. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; son, DeLon Gorman; daughter, MeLinda Atchley; sisters: Jean Mills-Friesin, Gwen Reed, Teresa Siebert, and Cathy Riou; grandchildren: Noah Shaw, Melynda Atchley, Eliana Gorman, Isaac Gorman, Tzviela Gorman, Aaron Gorman, Judah Gorman, and Israel Gorman; as well as, great-grandchildren, Zane Shaw and Zander Shaw. Each loved one carries a piece of her spirit.
