Leroy William Strack, 88, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 10 at the Harrisonville United Methodist Church with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the church. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Leroy was born September 5, 1920 in Wright City, MO, the son of Louis Herman Karl and Alma Margaretha Marie (Bockhorst) Strack and was raised on the family farm in Warren County. Leroy was baptized in 1922 and confirmed in 1934. He was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.
Leroy married Lillian Irene Pollien on August 23, 1946. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary in August of this year. Leroy farmed and worked at the Binkley Company, where he retired after 39 years. He continued to farm in Lincoln County until 1992 when they moved to Harrisonville to be near their children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors. Leroy was a life member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a WWII Army veteran.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Fred Louis Strack and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two children, Marie Vallee and her husband, Jim, Harrisonville, MO and Larry Strack and his wife, Dorothy, Harrisonville; three grandsons, David William Vallee, Kenneth Randall Vallee and his wife, Kourtney and Keith Alan Strack; one sister, Esther Fischer and her husband, William, Wentzville, MO and many other relatives and friends.
