Leona May Birkett, 72, Grandview, MO, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Village of Carroll Park in Grandview. Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, MO.
Leona was born June 19, 1945 in Kansas City, KS and was a 1963 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School in Raymore, Missouri. She was a lifelong Kansas City area resident.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, William and Geneva Spencer. She is survived by two sons, Fred Birkett of Peculiar, MO and Steve Birkett of Lisle, IL; two daughters, Cindy Cameron of St. Paul, MN and Michelle Birkett of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Larry Spencer of Peculiar, MO and Murray Horsley of Prescott, AZ; and seven grandchildren, Breanna Birkett, Brooke Birkett, Gavin Birkett, Halley Simpson, Ryan Birkett, Nathan Birkett and Ian Cameron.
