Leon Wesley Lee, 82, Freeman, Mo died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Freeman Presbyterian Church, Freeman, Mo with burial in Freeman Cemetery. Visitation Friday 6:00-8:00 at the church. Memorial contributions suggested to Freeman Presbyterian Church or St. Luke's Hospice House.
Leon was born April 19, 1932 in Hume, MO, a son of Evan Wesley and Ruby May (Mullies) Lee. Leon grew up in the Hume area and was a graduate of Hume High School. He was a decorated Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1956 as a Staff Sergeant. He continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves until 1960.

Leon was united in marriage to Linda Joan Bartlett August 18, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Hume, MO. They lived in Freeman, MO since 1965.
Leon was a high school industrial arts teacher and received his Bachelors, Masters, and Specialist Degrees in Education from Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, MO. Leon farmed in Freeman and taught at Center High School in Kansas City from 1964 until his retirement in 1987. Upon retirement, he became a full time farmer.

Leon was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Freeman, MO and served on the board of Public Water Supply District #7 in Freeman.

He loved learning, classical music and homemade ice cream, but most of all, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; a son, Larry Wesley Lee, his wife, Beth, of Stilwell, KS, and their three children: Kirsten, Anna and Jenae; and two daughters: Susan Lynn Lee and her husband, Eric Thompson, of Prairie Village, KS; and Lisa Ann Lee of Denver, CO. He is also survived by one sister, Lois Bray, and her husband, Bill, of Denver, CO.
