Obituary

Leon Clayton Bohrer, 68, of Freeman, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at his home in Freeman. A Celebration of Life honoring Leon will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM at the Freeman Community Building, where family and friends will gather to share memories.

Leon was born in Kansas City, MO, on August 5, 1956, to Emil Alexander and Rosy Resley (Day) Bohrer. He grew up in a vibrant household as one of twelve siblings, where laughter and adventure were a constant presence. Growing up in West Line, MO, he was a proud graduate of Cass Midway High School in 1974. Leon answered the call to serve his country by joining the U.S. Marines, a testament to his courageous spirit and commitment to service.

Leon returned to Freeman in 1985 and established L.B. Disposal Service, providing a vital service to his community. He later found his passion in pipeline construction, working as a skilled welder for Union Pipeline. Leon traveled across the country, joyfully contributing to the building of infrastructure while making lifelong friends along the way.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his son, Leon Bohrer, of Montreal, MO; brothers: Michael Bohrer of Kansas City, MO, and Joel Bohrer of El Dorado Springs, MO; sisters: Sheila Tidwell of Springfield, MO, and Cheryl Zartman of Grove, Oklahoma; three adored grandchildren; and nine precious great-grandchildren.
