Lelia "Orene" Morrison, 87, Freeman, MO, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 12:00-1:00. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO.

Orene was born March 2, 1924 in Paola, KS, the daughter of Emory Averill and Oma Lelia (Scott) Jones. She was a 1943 graduate of Paola High School. She married Richard Lee Morrison on May 20, 1944. She had lived in Freeman for 63 years and was a homemaker.

Orene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, on March 29, 1997, one son, Thomas Brian Morrison, on February 1, 2000, one sister, Eva Mae Jones, one brother, Averill W. Jones. She is survived by one son, Robert Lee Morrison, Freeman, MO; two granddaughters, Tonya Valderrama and her husband, Martin, Kansas City, MO and Stacy Alexander and her husband, Daniel, Cocoa, FL and nine great-grandchildren.
