Le Orra King, 77, Peculiar, MO, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Chapel. Burial in the Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. Contributions to United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or American Diabetes Assn. Le Orra was born June 29, 1930 in Kingsville, MO, the daughter of Jewel Dudley and Ethel Ellen (Kennedy) Glover. She was a 1948 graduate of Harrisonville High School. Le Orra married Lowell Earl King on June 25, 1950 in Harrisonville, MO.
Le Orra was employed at Allied-Signal in Kansas City, MO as an Administrative Clerk until her retirement in 1990. She was a loyal member of the United Methodist Church in Peculiar, MO. Le Orra was also active in the Peculiar Lions Club and served on the Wills Cemetery and East Gate Village Board of Directors. She enjoyed crocheting; jig saw puzzles and collecting items that represented chickens or roosters. Le Orra also loved her family and chasing the grandchildren to their many sporting events.
Le Orra was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Jean Pratt and her husband, Lowell on October 31, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Wayne King and wife Mary of Belton, MO and David King and wife Cheryl of Peculiar, MO. One brother, Oscar J. Glover of Sidney, NE and one sister, Kathleen Dunn of Kansas City, MO, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
