Lawrence Lavon Stafford, Sr., 73, of Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at his home. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Stafford Family Cemetery in Bradleyville, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1 from 2:00-4:00pm at Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or to the cemetery.

Lawrence was born January 1, 1935 in Hilda, MO, the son of Thomas Reed and Bertha Alice (Brumfield) Stafford. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Letts on May 29, 1954 in Bradleyville, MO. He was a construction field superintendent for 30 years before his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the RLDS Church.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, a brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; two sons, Lawrence Lavon Stafford, Jr. and wife, Carrie, Harrisonville, and Darrin Glenn Stafford and wife, Carol, Harrisonville; three daughters, Patricia Carol Wyman, Butler, MO, Deidre Gaye Camerer and husband, Ronald, Adrian, MO, and Holly Jaine Stark and husband, Doug, Peculiar, MO; one sister, Johnnie R. Lillard, Bradleyville, MO; ten grandchildren, three step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
