Laura Elizabeth Humphrey, 29, Kansas City, MO, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 16 at the United Methodist Church, 2600 East Mechanic Street, Harrisonville, MO with burial at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital.

Laura was born April 16, 1988 in North Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Mark Allen and Caroline (Steinman) Hay. Laura was a 2006 graduate of Oak Park High School in North Kansas City and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO with a B.A. degree in music. She had worked as a Web Content Coordinator at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for four years.

Always involved in music, theatre and dance, Laura started at an early age as a student at Ibsen Dance Theatre in Gladstone, and was currently still an instructor at the studio. She was an active member of Gladstone Theatre in the Park.

Laura was united in marriage to Ryan Charles Humphrey on April 1, 2017 in Kansas City, MO. She and Ryan were both tragically killed in a car accident on November 11, 2017 in Kansas City.

Laura is survived by her father, Mark Hay, Kansas City, MO; her mother and stepfather, Caroline and Phillip Carter, Shawnee, KS; a sister, Rachel Hay, Kansas City, MO; her step-brother, Rob Carter (Melissa), Coffeyville, KS; paternal grandparents, Bill and Maralyn Hay, Kansas City, MO, and a nephew, Nathan Carter.
