Larry Duane Thompson, 56, Adrian, MO, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his home. Funeral services 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 25 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO. Larry was born December 2, 1950 in Butler, MO, the son of Lawrence W. and Norma Jean (Swarens) Thompson, Jr. He attended school in Butler, MO and Grandview, MO. Larry married Tammy Sue Hastings on December 10, 1977 at the Adrian Christian Church. He had lived in Adrian for over 25 years. Larry had worked as a roofer and also at Sioux Chief Manufacturing in Peculiar, MO.


Larry was a talented artist, drawing, paintings and wood carving. He enjoyed fishing and camping and trap shooting. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Larry was baptized at Double Branch Christian Church in Rockville, MO.


Larry was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Wesley Glenn Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Tammy, of the home; one son, Bruce Thompson and his wife, Toi, Grandview, MO; one daughter, Brandy Moretine and her husband, Cory, Dayton, MO; his father, Lawrence W. Thompson, Jr. and his companion, Marilyn Vidal, Butler, MO; one brother, Gary Thompson, Adrian, MO; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Hastings, Carla Dunn and her husband, David, Rob Hastings and his wife, Karen, Linda Gill, Sharon Hansen, Steven Hastings and his wife, Lois and Eric Hastings and his wife, Susie, all of Adrian, MO; three grandchildren, Brian and Steven Thompson, Grandview, MO and Brenna Moretine, Dayton, MO and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
