Larry W. Smith, 71, of Adrian, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at Crown Care Rehab and Healthcare Center in Harrisonville, MO. A memorial visitation was held Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO.

Larry was born February 5, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas, a son of John Elliot and Martha Jean (Thomas) Smith. Larry moved to Adrian in 1967 where he attended Adrian High School. He had many different jobs throughout life, including working at General Motors, trim carpentry, mechanic, body man, and for many years, he was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union. He will be remembered by many for his love of cars and going fast.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Smith; and his stepfather, Harry "Red" McDowell. Larry is survived by two sons: Jeremy Smith and his wife, Rose, of Harrisonville, MO; and Jed Smith, of Adrian, MO; one brother, Kirk Smith, and his wife, Deborah, of Pleasant Hill, MO; and one grandson, Levi Smith, of Harrisonville, MO.
