L. Doty Moore, 82, of Raytown, MO, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Foxwood Springs Nursing Home in Raymore, MO. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Doty was born February 9, 1927 in Porum, Oklahoma, the daughter of June Ransom and Wadie (Harrison) Doty. She graduated from high school in Venice, California in 1945 and married Lester Vaughn in 1946. The family moved to the Warrensburg Missouri area in 1948 and relocated to Raytown in 1955.
After her marriage to Robert D. Moore in 1958, she and her family headed to Marceline, Missouri, where, in addition to her work at The Moore Company, she served as a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and Halloween Hot Dog Server. She relocated to Raytown in 1967 and continued her career in accounting, receiving a B.S. in Business Administration from Rockhurst College, Kansas City. Doty was an auditor and office manager at Construction Benefits Audit Corporation, where she retired in 1992. She was a member and Elder at Ridgeview Christian Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
Doty was preceded in death by her parents, 12 brothers and sisters and her daughter, Nancy Lisac. She is survived by three children, Debra Ross, Olathe, KS, Sandy Raynard, Harrisonville, MO and John Moore, Marceline, MO; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
