Obituary
Kenneth "Ken" Tarwater, Jr., 78, Kansas City, Missouri, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home. Memorial services were held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Inurnment in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.
Ken was born August 27, 1937 in Freeman, Missouri, the son of Marion Kenneth and Mabel Inez (Alcorn) Tarwater, Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of Freeman High School.
Ken served in the U .S. Air force Strategic Air Command from 1956-1960. He had a distinguished career as an airline mechanic for TWA for over 32 years, 1966-1999. Ken married Kaye D. Flanery on November 23, 1960 in Freeman, Missouri. He was active in AF SAC reunions, newsletters and books. He was an avid bird watcher and outdoorsman.
Ken is survived by his wife, Kaye, of the home; two daughters, Kriss Lynn Basile and Kellie Marie Bergman; two brothers; three sisters; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
