Keneth Carney Swartz, 77, Peculiar, MO, died Monday, January 3, 2011 in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 6 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Boniface Cemetery in Scipio, KS. Keneth was born January 24, 1933 in Amsterdam, MO, the son of Carnie George and Hattie Mae (Jones) Swartz. He was a graduate of Center High School in Kansas City, MO. He married Dorothy A. Bures on January 12, 1953 in Kansas City, MO. He had lived in Grandview, MO, Kansas City, Raytown, MO for 26 years and Peculiar for 20 years.

Keneth worked for Southwestern Bell for 35 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Knights of Columbus, the Pioneer Club and the Shamrock Hills Golf Club Men's Association.

Keneth was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, David A. Swartz and 3 sisters, Roma Oser, Wilma Bond and Ruth Bell. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; two sons, Stephen Swartz and wife, Wanda, Holden, MO and Larry D. Swartz and wife, Melissa, Lenexa, KS; one daughter, Kim Brewer and husband, Tim, Kansas City, MO; one brother, Jim Swartz, Moberly, MO; four sisters, Wanda Reed, Oak Grove, MO, Irene Smith, Bates City, MO, Cathy Bockelman, Cole Camp, MO and Connie Viebrock, Stover, MO; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter and two step-great-grandchildren.
